I am an aspiring physician and clinical researcher bridging the gap between healthcare and economics. My path through high school hasn't been entirely conventional. Navigating a chronic health challenge taught me that resilience and self-advocacy are just as critical as intellect. It forced me to master time management—skills I apply directly to my rigorous coursework, research publications, and community initiatives.
Whether I am analyzing neural connectomes in Python, leading personal finance workshops, or tending to my fruit trees, I bring deep focus, grit, and empathy to everything I do.
As a Research Intern at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, I analyzed mouse visual cortex neurons to predict the frequency of specific neural connections in Layer 5 of the brain to inform future research on neurodegenerative diseases. I wrote 18+ Python scripts (3,300+ lines of code) analyzing the open-access MICrONS dataset (200k cells, 523M synapses), mapping correlations across 14,791 connections. I am the third author on the manuscript submitted to Nature (only high school student on the project); Regeneron STS submission in progress.
As a Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics Researcher at the Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program (ASDRP), I evaluated a novel analog of Andrographolide (C-19 Tert-butyldiphenylsilyl Andrographolide Analog) as a potential anti-cancer drug. I conducted 12 laboratory assays evaluating lipophilicity, plasma stability, and microsomal stability, and solely completed PBPK (Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic) computational modeling to predict human drug impact. Preprint published (doi.org/10.20944/preprints202609.2044.v1); peer review for NHSJS in progress.
To make extracurricular and research opportunities universally accessible, I coded a 6,200-line web platform in Python and HTML compiling over 2,200 high school summer programs, internships, and competitions. I developed an integrated AI-powered search tool and custom search filters based on feedback from 40+ peers. The site has reached 1,200+ views and 360+ unique users, and has been officially adopted across 12 schools in the Spring Education Group network. Congressional App Challenge submission in progress.
As Program Manager and Lead at Project FinLight, I lead educational campaigns teaching 6 foundational personal finance topics to teenagers. Through interactive in-person workshops, guest speaker events, and educational YouTube videos, we have reached 90+ in-person students and expanded online outreach to 150+ students across 125+ online participants and 25% of the BASIS Independent Fremont student body. Currently expanding workshops and producing a full Udemy course.
Serving as Chapter President (Grade 12) and VP of Competition (Grade 11), I placed 6th globally out of 212 teams at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Business Law & Ethics (BLTDM). I am a 3x ICDC qualifier and 2026 Double Qualifier (BLTDM and PMFL), placing 1st in California State with 4 state and 3 district podium finishes. I created structured curricula, study guides, and roleplay simulations for our 40+ chapter members, mentoring 5 ICDC qualifiers (3 top 20, 2 top 10).
As Founder and President of the BIF Econ Club, I organize study materials and mock challenges for high-stakes economics competitions including the Wharton Investment Challenge, the National Economics Challenge (NEC), and the National Personal Finance Challenge (NPFC). Through statewide coaching, my team and I placed 3rd at the Northern California State Finals for the NPFC (out of 21 regional finalist teams) and 3rd in the Financial Advisors' Contest.
Committed to clinical medicine and patient care, I completed 100 hours of intensive medical training across the Stanford Clinical Summer Internship (CSI) and Medical Immersion Scholars Academy (MISA). I performed pig heart, sheep kidney, and brain dissections, executed emergency trauma and cardiac arrest simulations, and earned 5 clinical certifications. Furthermore, I volunteer at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley in the Inpatient Laboratory (transporting specimens, packing blood culture kits) and volunteer at Washington Health.
As a Volunteer Swim Teacher with SNAPkids, I work one-on-one with children with physical and developmental disabilities, helping them build aquatic safety, motor coordination, and self-confidence in the water. To ensure the continuity of adaptive equipment and pool access, I organized a community fundraising campaign that raised over $1,000 for the program.
As Middle School Lead & Lecturer for the ACS Chemistry Olympiad Club (USNCO), I design weekly lesson plans, chemical problem-solving sets, and interactive demonstrations for 12 middle school students. In 2025-2026, I coached 4 eighth-grade students to 1st place victories at the California State level in the prestigious 'You Be The Solution' chemical challenge.
Dedicated to urban ecological resilience, I serve as a Tree Lead with Urban Forest Friends (UFF), directing field teams of 5 volunteers to plant and establish 120+ climate-adapted trees across Newark, Fremont, and Union City. In tandem, I regularly volunteer at the 1.3-acre Fremont LEAF Urban Farm, managing seasonal planting, weeding, and organic crop maintenance.
At home, I maintain container-cultivated citrus and Gala apple trees. I manage customized soil mixes (balancing aeration, perlite, and organic citrus blends), execute seasonal dormant and canopy pruning, study micro-nutrient requirements, and implement organic pest management to keep the mini-orchard thriving.
I formulate cold-process handcrafted soaps from scratch, experimenting with botanical oils, saponification ratios, and aromatic essential oils (with sandalwood and vanilla being my signature blends). I also craft poured candles, providing handmade, thoughtful gifts for friends, family, and classmates.
My backpack is adorned with enamel trading pins collected from DECA international tournaments, academic conferences, and travels around the world. Standouts include a Takashi Murakami flower, an authentic giant panda pin from China, and an Ontario beaver pin—each representing a memorable personal story, conversation, or friendship made along the way.
